Čikat

Čikat is a cove along the coast of Mali Lošinj with a pine forest stretching down to meet sandy shores and clear Mediterranean waters. The beach features a gentle slope into the sea and multiple facilities for visitors seeking both activity and relaxation.

The area developed in the second half of the 19th century after Aleppo pines were introduced in 1856, transforming the landscape entirely. During this period, grand villas were built for Austrian nobility who discovered the site as a retreat from city life.

The name refers to the pine trees that dominate the area and shape how visitors experience the place. Today locals and tourists use the beach as a gathering spot, while the historic villas nearby evoke memories of past wealth and elegance.

The beach is easily accessible and has various facilities including courts and play areas right along the shoreline. It works best to arrive early in the day if you prefer quieter conditions, as the space fills with visitors from mid-morning onward.

A small chapel on Cape Anuncijata was built in 1858 and has long served as a refuge for fishermen and sailors seeking protection at sea. The modest structure remains visible from the beach and adds a layer of spiritual meaning to the coastal landscape.
