Párizsi udvar, Gothic shopping arcade in central Budapest, Hungary
The Párizsi udvar features a hexagonal glass dome, colorful Majolica tiles, mosaic floors, and ornamental balconies across its L-shaped gallery structure.
Built between 1909 and 1913 under architect Henrik Schmahl's direction, this building replaced an earlier 1817 department store modeled after Paris' Passage des Panoramas.
The building combines Venetian Gothic, Renaissance, Art Nouveau, and Oriental architectural elements, reflecting Budapest's diverse design influences of the early 1900s.
Located near Ferenciek tere metro station, the structure now operates as a luxury hotel with 110 rooms, restaurants, and a champagne bar.
The interior features detailed craftsmanship by Miksa Róth, including a vaulted colored glass roof system that creates distinctive light patterns throughout the day.
