Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, Palace hotel on Grand Boulevard, Budapest, Hungary
The Anantara New York Palace occupies a baroque revival building on Erzsébet körút 9-11 with marble facades, ornate stone carvings, and a prominent clock tower that marks the street. The structure contains 185 rooms with contemporary furnishings, an interior swimming pool, fitness area, and spa facilities alongside several restaurants and bars.
The building was erected in 1894 as an office for the New York Life Insurance Company, reflecting the city's business expansion during the Belle Époque period. After comprehensive renovation, it reopened as a luxury hotel in 2006.
The New York Café on the ground floor serves as a gathering place for people interested in literature, continuing a tradition that stretches back to its founding. Visitors can see writers and readers meeting there over coffee and conversation.
The location sits centrally on Erzsébet körút and is easily walkable to many well-known sights and museums in the district. It is straightforward to navigate the surrounding area and explore the city from here.
Sixteen decorative faun statues created by sculptor Károly Senyei guard the café entrance and catch the eye immediately upon arrival. These figures are characteristic of the artistic choices made by the building's architects during its original construction.

Budapest is a city where history appears at every corner. The Danube River divides the city into two parts: the hilly Buda with its castle and the flatter Pest with its wide streets and squares. Walking through Budapest, you see medieval churches standing beside 19th-century buildings, thermal baths...
