Elisabeth Bridge, International bridge in Komárom, Hungary and Komárno, Slovakia.

Elisabeth Bridge is a steel truss structure that crosses the Danube River for 415 meters, linking Komárom on the Hungarian side with Komárno on the Slovak side. The roadway spans approximately 10.8 meters in width, and the bridge structure rises about 8.35 meters above water level.

The bridge was built in 1892 during the Austro-Hungarian Empire as a crossing between the twin cities. Following extensive damage in World War II, it was reconstructed in 1946 and has remained an important link between the two nations.

The bridge honors Elisabeth of Bavaria, an Austro-Hungarian empress who held deep significance for both nations during the late 1800s. It represents a physical link between two communities that share decades of connected history and culture.

The bridge is open to vehicle traffic and provides a direct crossing between Hungary and Slovakia. Travelers should note this is an international border crossing and bring appropriate documentation for passage.

The central span of the bridge extends about 102 meters across the river without intermediate supports, which was a significant engineering accomplishment at the time it was built. This unsupported length demonstrates the advanced steel construction techniques used in the late 1800s.
