Aeropark, Aviation museum at Ferenc Liszt International Airport, Hungary
Aeropark is an aviation museum located at Ferenc Liszt International Airport near Budapest, displaying historic aircraft and helicopters. The collection spans about a dozen aircraft and several helicopters representing different eras of flight.
The museum's story started in 1988 when Hungary received a Soviet Ilyushin Il-14T transport aircraft. This gift became the foundation for the aviation collection that exists today.
Former pilots and flight attendants work here and share their personal experiences with visitors. Their stories reveal how commercial aviation evolved in Hungary over the decades.
The museum operates seasonally with extended hours during summer, offering guided tours and flight simulator experiences. Visitors can also step inside several aircraft to explore them up close.
Visitors can take flights aboard one of the world's few still-operational Li-2 aircraft, maintained through partnership with the Goldtimer Foundation. This Soviet-era plane is a rare piece of aviation history kept in active flying condition.
