Parish Church of St. Margaret, Catholic parish church in Budapest District XIII, Hungary

The Parish Church of St. Margaret stands on Szent Margit tér, a square separated from Lehel tér in 2019, in Budapest's Újlipótváros. Architect István Möller modelled the design on the ruined Romanesque church at Zsámbék, and builder Ferenc Wihart completed the 918-square-metre structure. Its portal, rose window and other windows are the work of Miksa Róth, while Henrik Heintz painted the wall frescoes and György Nemes Ősz made the sculptures.

The parish grew out of a chapel association founded in 1919, which held services in a school gymnasium on Pannónia Street and then in a basement chapel. In 1923 it became an independent parish under the name of Blessed Margaret of the Árpád house. Construction on the Ferdinánd tér plot began in 1931 to plans by István Möller modelled on the ruined church of Zsámbék, and Archbishop-Primate Jusztinián Serédi consecrated the church on 15 October 1933. It took the name of Saint Margaret after her canonisation in 1944.

The church was consecrated on 15 October 1933 and took the name of Margaret of the House of Árpád in 1944, after her canonisation. Masses are held regularly, with daily confession and adoration, and several communities meet here and welcome seekers and visitors.

The church has been open to worshippers and visitors all day, free of charge, since 1 October 2017. It stands on Szent Margit tér, the square cut off from Lehel tér on 29 May 2019, between the Lehel market hall and the WestEnd City Center; the Lehel tér metro station (line M3) and trams 14 and 76 stop nearby.

Architect István Möller modelled the design on the ruined Romanesque church at Zsámbék, and master builder Ferenc Wihart erected the 918-square-metre structure. The rose window and the other windows were made by Miksa Róth, and the bells came from László Szlezák's foundry.
