Remete-hegyi No 2 Cave, Limestone cave in Remeteszőlős, Hungary.

The Remete-hegyi No 2 Cave extends 44 meters in length and reaches a depth of 15 meters within the white limestone hillside of Buda Hills.

Excavations of the cave began in 1914 by Ottokár Kadić, followed by László Vértess, revealing evidence of ancient human habitation from the Stone Age.

The cave takes its name from a hermit who found refuge here after the dissolution of the Hungarian Pauline Order in 1782.

Visitors can access the cave entrance, located 10 meters above the creek bed, by following marked trails from the Szirom Street or Zsíroshegyi Street bus stops.

This fossil solutional cave bears traces of historical water flow patterns that once connected directly to the creek bed below.
