Indrapatra Fort, Historical fortification in Ladong village, Indonesia.

Indrapatra Fort is a limestone fortification complex comprising three distinct structures, with the main fort measuring 70 by 70 meters (229 by 229 feet) and featuring walls three meters (10 feet) high. The site sits near Ladong village and shapes the landscape of this coastal region.

The original structures were built in the 7th century by the Hindu Lamuri Kingdom, with additional fortifications constructed in the early 17th century. These two building phases reflect the changing political control of the region.

The two domed structures with their wells served as places where Hindu believers performed religious ceremonies and spiritual cleansing. These wells held central importance in the religious practices of the community that once lived here.

The fort sits about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Banda Aceh and can be reached by local Labi-labi transport or private vehicles in roughly 20 minutes. Arranging a local guide helps visitors understand the site's full historical context.

Admiral Malahayati, recognized as the first female admiral globally, commanded fleet operations from this strategic coastal location. Her presence at this fort marks a turning point in the region's maritime history.
