Glenveagh Castle, Victorian castle in Derryveagh Mountains, Ireland
The granite castle features a four-story rectangular keep with turrets overlooking Lough Veagh within the boundaries of Glenveagh National Park.
John George Adair constructed Glenveagh Castle between 1867 and 1873 after making his fortune through land speculation in the United States.
The castle interior contains period furnishings, including George III antiques, an Irish harp in the music room, and an extensive collection in the library.
Visitors can access the castle grounds through guided tours, with transportation services connecting to nearby towns in County Donegal.
The estate encompasses 40,873 acres of mountains and forests, maintaining a resident herd of red deer within its protected boundaries.
