The castle contains multiple towers, extensive halls, and period rooms filled with antique furniture, portraits, and decorative elements from different centuries.
The Talbot family received the castle and surrounding lands in 1185 from Henry II, maintaining continuous ownership for 791 years until 1976.
The Great Hall preserves the memory of fourteen Talbot family members who shared their last breakfast before perishing at the Battle of Boyne in 1690.
Visitors can reach the castle via Dublin Bus routes 32 and 42, or take a ten-minute walk from Malahide DART station.
The castle grounds feature a butterfly house within the walled garden, containing hundreds of tropical specimens in a climate-controlled environment.
