Balbriggan, Coastal town in County Dublin, Ireland

The River Bracken flows through this northern settlement, which extends along the Irish Sea coast with a harbor and limestone pier.

Baron Hamilton purchased local estates in the early 1700s and constructed a limestone pier, transforming the small fishing village into a manufacturing center.

The name derives from Baile Brigín in Irish language, potentially referring to Brecan's Town or the surrounding small hills in the landscape.

The town connects to Dublin through the Belfast-Dublin railway line, serving approximately 2,200 daily commuters since its establishment in 1844.

Archaeological excavations near Hamlet Lane uncovered a Neolithic house and stone tools dating back over 5000 years, predating known regional settlements.
