The complex includes three connected buildings with courtyards, featuring original timber framework and stone walls dating from the late 16th century.
John Rothe Fitz-Piers constructed this residence between 1594 and 1610, establishing it as a center for trade and political activities in medieval Kilkenny.
The museum displays 2,500 artifacts related to Kilkenny's heritage, from prehistoric times through the medieval period to modern Irish history.
Visitors can explore the house Tuesday through Sunday from 10:30 to 16:30, with both guided tours and self-guided options available throughout the complex.
The reconstructed garden contains period-accurate plants, herbs, and fruit trees, along with a medieval well originally dug by Cistercian monks.
