Stradbally Hall

Stradbally Hall is a country estate in County Laois featuring a north-facing entrance with columned pavilions that overlook expansive parkland. The structure includes south-facing terraces surrounded by formal gardens and is home to Ireland's longest-operating narrow-gauge steam railway.

The estate was granted to the Cosby family in the 16th century by the English Crown as recognition for their role in settling the region. The main structure underwent major reconstruction in 1860, during which Italianate architectural features and a grand ballroom were added.
