Science Gallery, Science museum at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland
Science Gallery sits in a glass-fronted section of the Naughton Institute within Trinity College and displays rotating exhibitions that connect science, art, and technology together. The space brings modern glass architecture together with exhibition areas where different subjects of science and design are shown.
The center opened in February 2008 and established a new model for science education and public engagement at the university. Its launch marked the beginning of an institution that differed from classical museum approaches.
The center designs its programs specifically for young adults between 15 and 25, bringing current scientific questions closer to this audience. Visitors find here a space where discussion and hands-on experience come together.
The facility is fully accessible and allows people with mobility limitations to easily reach all areas. Visitors should note that the location sits on the Trinity College campus and is best reached on foot from the city center.
Instead of maintaining permanent collections, the gallery presents three to four different special exhibitions each year, each focusing on different areas of science. This approach encourages visitors to return regularly and discover new perspectives on scientific subjects each time.
