Rockabill Lighthouse, Historic lighthouse on Rockabill Islands, County Dublin, Ireland
The white cylindrical tower with a black horizontal band stands 32 meters tall on the larger of two granite islands in the Irish Sea.
Construction of the lighthouse began in 1855 using granite from Mourne Mountains and local limestone, taking five years to complete at a cost of £13,248.
The lighthouse remains a primary navigational landmark for maritime communities along the Dublin coast, visible from Balbriggan, Skerries, Loughshinny, and Rush.
The automated light system operates at 45 meters above sea level with a white light range of 17 nautical miles and red light range of 13 nautical miles.
The islands host Europe's largest Roseate Tern colony, with 1,597 pairs recorded in 2017, making it a crucial Special Protection Area for seabirds.
