St. Peter's Church, Aungier Street, Dublin, Church building in Aungier Street, Dublin, Ireland
St. Peter's Church stands at its original 1685 location, where the Dublin YMCA building currently occupies the historical religious site.
The church was constructed on former Whitefriars land and underwent multiple reconstructions, including a Georgian renovation by Michael Wills between 1750 and 1752.
The churchyard served as a burial ground for both parish members and Huguenots until 1883, reflecting the diverse religious communities of Dublin.
The remains of those buried in the churchyard were transferred to Mount Jerome cemetery during the site's development in the 1980s.
Arthur Wellesley, who later became the Duke of Wellington, received his baptism at St. Peter's Church in 1769.
