St. Cronan's Church, Gothic church in Roscrea, Ireland
The church features pointed-arch stained glass windows, a single-cell gable-fronted design, and a bell tower with diagonal buttresses and pinnacles.
Established in 1812, the current church replaced a 12th-century Romanesque structure, incorporating stones from the original building into its construction.
The church maintains a 17th-century silver chalice with raised angelic figures, representing the religious craftsmanship of pre-Reformation Ireland.
The church grounds include an enclosed graveyard with a rubble stone wall, cast iron gates, and railings for visitors to explore.
Local architect James Sheane designed the church and was later buried in its churchyard following his death in 1816.
