Cloonacauneen Castle

Cloonacauneen Castle is a four-story stone tower built in the 15th century in Claregalway with Norman design features. It contains original defensive walls, spiral staircases, and medieval fireplaces that remain from its early construction.

Richard Beag Burke owned the castle in 1574 and took part in rebellions against English rule until the Blake family took over in 1629. The changes in ownership reflect the conflicts that shaped this part of Ireland during that era.

The restaurant serves traditional Irish food using ingredients from local farms in the surrounding area. The cooking style reflects how people in this region have prepared meals for many generations.
