Hod HaSharon, City council and residential center in Central District, Israel

Hod HaSharon is a city in the Central District of Israel, located roughly ten kilometers east of the Mediterranean coast. The administrative area covers approximately nineteen square kilometers and sits at an elevation of around forty-five meters.

The city began in 1924 when Polish immigrants established the first settlements in the area. Four separate towns – Magdiel, Ramatayim, Hadar, and Ramat Hadar – later merged to form a single municipality.

The name translates to 'Glorious Sharon' in Hebrew, marking its location in the Sharon plain region where ancient olive oil production and agricultural practices flourished.

Two railway stations connect the city with larger centers in the country and provide direct access to regional transport networks. Public facilities and municipal services are distributed throughout the urban area and are easy to reach for visitors.

Archaeological excavations at Tel Qana within the city limits show continuous settlement from the Bronze Age through the Roman period. Researchers uncovered traces of an olive oil press there that is over a thousand years old.
