Rehov, Archaeological tell in Beit Shean Valley, Israel
The excavation site spans across multiple layers of occupation, containing remains from Late Bronze Age through Iron Age settlements near the Jordan River.
Archaeological investigations between 1997 and 2012 revealed structures and artifacts dating from the 14th century BCE to the 7th century BCE abandonment.
The discovered artifacts include pottery objects, clay figurines, seals, and ivories that represent both Canaanite and Israelite cultural influences.
The archaeological site lies 5 kilometers south of Beit Shean and 3 kilometers west of the Jordan River, with clear paths for exploration.
Excavations uncovered an industrial apiary containing preserved clay beehives from the 10th century BCE, representing the earliest known beekeeping facility.
