Alfei Menashe, Israeli settlement in the West Bank
Alfei Menashe is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, in the Qalqilya Governorate, close to the Green Line border with Israel. It sits across rolling hills and includes residential neighborhoods with gardens, schools, local shops, and public parks.
The settlement was founded in 1983, and four years later it became an independent local council. The land it was built on belonged to three Palestinian villages: Nabi Ilyas, Islah, and Ras Atiya.
The name comes from Manasseh, a biblical son of Joseph, giving the place a connection to ancient Jewish tradition. Community life centers on schools and shared outdoor spaces where families gather on a daily basis.
The settlement is accessible via Route 55, which connects it to cities on the Israeli side of the Green Line. Visitors should check entry conditions in advance, as the area operates under Israeli administration and access rules may apply.
Noad Lahat, an Israeli fighter known on the international mixed martial arts circuit, grew up in this settlement. This local connection to professional combat sports is something many visitors would not expect to find here.
