Sha'ray Torah, מוסד תורני מרכזי משנת ייסודו בתר"ן (1890) עד סגירתו בזמן מלחמת העצמאות

Sha'ray Torah is a historic Talmud school and synagogue in Tel Aviv with simple but sturdy architecture. The building combines classrooms and study halls with a prayer space in a modest layout that reflects its focus on education and faith.

The original Talmud school was founded in 1896 to teach boys both religious knowledge and practical skills. In the early 1900s, Rav Kook expanded the vision by establishing a craft school that combined traditional religious studies with trades such as metalworking and carpentry.

Sha'ray Torah served as the heart of the Jewish community in Neve Shalom, functioning as both a synagogue and school where families gathered to study, pray, and celebrate together. The building brought people from the neighborhood together in one place for religious learning and communal life.

The building is located on Eleazar Rokach Street in the Neve Shalom neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot. The site offers space to explore and remains a quiet spot in the middle of modern Tel Aviv.

The craft school featured unusual ironwork decorations with Jewish symbols such as the Star of David integrated into its entrance design. This combination of traditional craftsmanship with religious imagery was an innovative approach to vocational training in that era.
