Adilabad district

Adilabad district spreads across northern Telangana as an administrative division containing hundreds of villages organized into 18 administrative blocks, with Adilabad town serving as its center. The territory was first created as a sub-district called Sirpur-Tandur in 1872 and became independent in 1905, taking its name from the Bijapur ruler Ali Adil Shah. This separation marked its evolution into a distinct administrative unit during British colonial rule.
