Gayatri Waterfalls

Gayatri Waterfalls is a natural waterfall in Adilabad district where water descends from about 100 feet high and collects in a deep pool at the base. The Kadem River feeds these falls within a forested area near Tarnam Khurd village.

The Kadem River has served as a vital water source for farming communities in Telangana for many generations. The river system shaped how people settled and farmed in this region over time.

Local people call this place Gadidha Gundam or Mukti Gundam, names rooted in regional language traditions of Telangana. These local names show how the community has named and related to this natural feature over time.

Reaching the falls requires a 5-kilometer forest hike from Tarnam Khurd village, so bring proper hiking gear and supplies. The trail passes through dense forest without services, so plan accordingly and start early for a full day visit.

Water flow changes dramatically with the seasons, with peak strength during the monsoon months of September and October. In drier months the cascade becomes much weaker, creating a very different appearance at the site.
