Agaya Gangai, Waterfall in Namakkal district, India
The Agaya Gangai waterfall plunges 91 meters from the Aiyaru river into a pool surrounded by dense forest and rocky formations.
The waterfall gained prominence after Namakkal district separated from Salem district in 1997, becoming a central natural landmark of the region.
Local communities consider the waterfall sacred and gather there during festivals to perform traditional Tamil ceremonies and rituals.
Forest authorities restrict access during monsoon season from June to September due to increased water flow and potential rock slides.
