Nohsngithiang Falls

Nohsngithiang Falls is a waterfall in the East Khasi Hills that divides into seven parallel streams as it descends over limestone cliffs. The cascading water spreads across roughly 70 meters of rock face.

The Khasi people have inhabited these hills for generations, living alongside natural features like this waterfall as part of their ancestral lands. The site has remained a known landmark within their traditional territories.

From Shillong, the drive takes roughly two hours to reach the viewing area near Mawsmai village. The best time to visit is during monsoon season when water flow is at its fullest.

The waterfall flows primarily during monsoon season, making it invisible or nearly dry for much of the year. This seasonal nature means the same location looks completely different depending on when you visit.
