Jewar, Administrative center in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, India.
Jewar is an administrative division located on the northeastern banks of the Yamuna River, adjacent to the Greater Noida metropolitan area, at an elevation of 195 meters (640 feet). The area functions through multiple administrative wards that organize local governance and community services.
The settlement traces its roots to an ancient location called Jáwáli, founded by a Brahmin sage in earlier times. Its administrative status shifted in 1997 when it was transferred from Bulandshahr district to Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
The annual Dau ji Mela festival brings together residents each September at the Dau ji Mandir for traditional ceremonies. These gatherings form an important part of local community life and traditions.
The area is well connected by the Yamuna Expressway and National Highway NH-334D, providing easy access to major cities in the region. A new airport under construction will soon add another transportation option for both residents and visitors.
The town is home to residents from different religious backgrounds who share common spaces and daily life in the community. This diversity shapes how the place feels and functions in everyday interactions.
