Bathing Ghat, Bulandshahr

Bathing Ghat is a bathing platform in Bulandshahr located on the Kali River, featuring four octagonal stone towers about 52 feet tall decorated with red sandstone and white stone frames. The structure spans multiple levels of steps descending to the river and provides different height zones for washing and bathing.

The structure was built between 1878 and 1880 under the supervision of a British colonial administrator and reflects that period of governance. The project merged western engineering techniques with local bathing traditions and left a lasting mark on the city's landscape.

The stone platform serves as a gathering place for Hindu rituals and local celebrations, where people come together during important occasions. On festival days like Holi, the steps and surrounding areas fill with music and communal activities.

The site is accessible during daylight hours and located near the city center along the river. It is best to visit in early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are comfortable and fewer people are present.

Deep wells were excavated beneath each of the four towers, forming the water engineering core of the entire structure. This hidden infrastructure allows the system to maintain stable water levels and supply the wells even today.
