Dhaniakhali community development block, Community development block in Chinsurah Sadar subdivision, India.
Dhaniakhali is an administrative block in West Bengal that spreads across flat alluvial plains within the Gangetic Delta region. The area features numerous water channels and farmland organized across approximately 264 villages.
The block was established as an administrative division during a reorganization of Hooghly District in West Bengal. It grew into a center for agriculture and textile production in the region.
Local weavers continue to craft Dhaniakhali handloom sarees, making these textiles an important part of the region's craft heritage. Visitors can see this work happening in village workshops where looms are still operated by hand using traditional methods.
The area is served by six railway stations on the Howrah-Bardhaman line that connect villages to major cities like Kolkata. Visitors should use these rail connections as the most convenient way to reach and travel through the region.
The six railway stations link the villages not only to each other but also provide insight into the transport patterns of a real agricultural region. This historic rail line has crossed the area for over a century and continues to shape daily life in the villages today.
