Toranmal

Toranmal is a waterfall in the Satpura mountain range that drops from around 1150 meters elevation through dense forest. The water divides into multiple cascading levels before collecting in natural pools.

The location served as a natural fortress during medieval times with defensive structures still visible on the grounds. These remains show how the terrain was once used for protection.

Local communities gather near the falls during monsoon festivities to celebrate together and perform traditional practices. The place serves as a social hub where families and groups spend time, especially when water levels are highest.

The best time to visit is from July to January when water flow is abundant and conditions are ideal. Access comes via a winding 7-kilometer road from Toranmal hill station.

The forest surrounding the waterfall contains many medicinal plants used in local healing practices. Visitors can spot different species and learn about their traditional uses.
