Zuari Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Goa, India
The Zuari Bridge is a cable-stayed structure that spans 640 meters across the Zuari River, connecting North and South Goa districts via National Highway 66. The design features eight lanes divided into dual carriageways, a 10.7-meter center median, and separate pathways for pedestrians.
The structure was completed in 2016 to replace an earlier bridge and accommodate growing traffic between the northern and southern regions of Goa. The modernization became necessary as travel demands increased between these two areas.
The bridge links two distinct regions of Goa and allows travelers to move easily between the north and south. For locals, it has become a straightforward route to reach family, work, and important places.
The bridge is well-marked with clear lane divisions, making navigation straightforward for all vehicle types. Pedestrians should use the dedicated pathways, especially during busy times when traffic increases.
The structure includes two observation towers that are planned to feature viewing galleries and a revolving restaurant. These additions will transform it beyond a simple transportation route into a destination for visitors.
