Kanjirankulam Bird Sanctuary, Bird sanctuary near Mudukulathur, Tamil Nadu, India.
The sanctuary covers 1.04 square kilometers of protected wetlands with babul trees, providing nesting sites for migratory and resident bird species.
Established in 1989, the sanctuary consists of two sections: Keela Kanjirankulam at 66.66 hectares and Mela Kanjirankulam at 30.231 hectares.
The wetland supports over 2000 hectares of agricultural land, sustaining more than 1000 families through irrigation of paddy fields and plantations.
Visitors can access the sanctuary via Mudukulathur, located 8 kilometers away, with accommodation available at the PWD Rest House.
The sanctuary features water depths between 2.5 to 4 meters and maintains a specific pH level of 8.8 with 370 ppm total dissolved solids.
