Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Medical center in Four Bungalows, India
The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital is a medical center in Four Bungalows, Mumbai, that rises 17 stories and houses more than 750 beds. The building includes 240 consulting rooms and two basement levels, all connected by a central atrium with natural light.
The project began in 1999 as a cardiac center led by Nitu Mandke, underwent changes after his death in 2003, and opened its doors in 2009. Reliance Industries, founded by Dhirubhai Ambani, provided the funding, and the center was named after his wife.
A life-size statue of Kokilaben Ambani stands in the entrance hall, while modern treatment rooms spread across the upper floors serve patients from around the world. The wide corridors connect wards with multilingual staff who assist families from over 70 countries.
The drive from Mumbai International Airport takes around 30 minutes, with main entrances directly on the main road. Visitors find waiting areas on each floor and elevators connecting all levels.
The center houses Asia's first three-room operating suite with built-in MRI technology, giving surgeons real-time images during procedures. In a separate wing, Mumbai's largest dialysis center operates with 42 machines, treating hundreds of patients daily.
