Annavaram Satyanarayana Temple, Hindu temple in Annavaram, India
Annavaram Satyanarayana Temple is a Hindu temple on Ratnagiri Hill in the town of Annavaram, India. The structure follows South Indian patterns with carved stone pillars, multiple prayer halls, and a central shrine that rises through several levels.
The temple came into being in 2001 when Sri Midhun Reddy sought to create a permanent site for Satyanarayana Vratam ceremonies in Andhra Pradesh. Since then, this sanctuary has served as a fixed destination for that form of worship in the region.
Worshippers celebrate the Satyanarayana Vratam here, a traditional vow that involves offering rice, fruits, and sweets in prescribed steps. This ceremony brings families together for shared prayers and the distribution of blessed food afterward.
Pilgrims reach the hill either by stairs or a winding access road, while simple lodging rooms and food stalls open near the main shrine. The climb takes around twenty to thirty minutes on foot, depending on fitness.
Smaller shrines dedicated to other deities surround the central altar, giving visitors multiple spots for worship in one location. The central shrine faces east so that early morning light falls directly on the statue, illuminating it at dawn.
