Imphal Peace Museum, World War II museum in Nambol, India
The Imphal Peace Museum spans 6500 square feet at the foothills of Red Hill, featuring three sections dedicated to wartime history and regional culture.
The museum opened in 2019 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Imphal, which took place between March and July 1944.
The exhibits present artifacts, photographs, and audio-visual displays that document the experiences of Manipuri people during and after World War II.
The museum contains a large exhibition hall that hosts temporary displays and maintains a collection of military equipment, personal items, and historical photographs.
Former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo contributed a calligraphy piece displaying the word 'Peace,' which stands as a central element of the museum.
