Statue of Subhas Chandra Bose, Granite statue at India Gate, New Delhi, India.
The Statue of Subhas Chandra Bose is a granite sculpture at the India Gate complex in New Delhi. The figure stands roughly 6 feet tall and shows the leader in military uniform with an upright posture.
The sculpture was unveiled in 2022 and honors a man who organized an Indian army against British rule in the 1940s. It replaced an earlier monument that had been removed after independence.
The memorial takes its name from a leader who advocated armed resistance against colonial rule. Today, families and school groups come here to take photographs and explore the story of the freedom struggle.
The site is accessible throughout the day and sits near other monuments around India Gate. On public holidays it can get busier and access may be limited by barricades.
Sculptor Arun Yogiraj carved the figure from a single block of black granite sourced from Karnataka. Quotes and thoughts from the leader are engraved in the pedestal area.
