Iran–Turkmenistan Friendship Dam

The Iran-Turkmenistan Friendship Dam is an earth-fill structure that crosses the Hari River and generates electrical power through water flow. The facility operates with a large water storage area that supplies both nations.

The dam was completed in 2004 as a bilateral project to manage the Hari River between the two countries. This achievement represented a major step in cross-border water management for the region.

The dam represents a joint initiative between Iran and Turkmenistan, with both nations sharing equal rights to 820 million cubic meters of water resources.
