Ferdows Hot Spring, Natural thermal spring in South Khorasan Province, Iran.
Ferdows Hot Spring is a mineral-rich natural spring in South Khorasan Province that emerges from earthquake faults and volcanic deposits north of Ferdows city. The site offers swimming pools, private baths, saunas, villas, and restaurants with accommodation options positioned along the Bajestan route.
The spring's monument was built approximately two centuries ago and has been valued as a landmark ever since. After an earthquake in 1968 caused the water to stop flowing temporarily, the spring eventually resumed and has been in continuous use.
The spring serves as a meeting place for travelers heading toward Mashhad, where people traditionally seek natural remedies for joint and muscle ailments.
Visitors should prepare for warm water temperatures in the pools and bring appropriate bathing attire. The best time to visit is outside peak hours in early morning or late afternoon when the pools are less crowded.
The spring sits beside an inactive volcano that has enriched the water with minerals over many centuries. This volcanic origin makes the water chemically distinctive compared to other thermal springs in the region.
