Muhammad Jafar Abadei Mosque, 19th-century mosque in Isfahan, Iran

The Muhammad Jafar Abadei Mosque is a 19th-century religious structure located within the Takht-e Fulad complex in Isfahan. The building displays traditional construction using brick, mortar, and decorative tiles across its approximately 1,500 square meter footprint.

The mosque was completed in 1878 under the direction of Mohammad Jafar Abadei, a prominent religious leader of the Qajar period. The structure carries his name to honor the figure who commissioned its construction.

The mosque serves as a gathering place for the local Shia community and shapes the religious life of its neighborhood. Visitors can observe how the space functions for daily worship and how it anchors the social fabric of the surrounding area.

The building is located in District 6 of the city, south of Rukn al-Din Mosque on Khodabakhsh Street. Keep in mind that this is an active place of worship, so respectful behavior and modest dress are expected when visiting.

The building received official recognition as part of Iran's national heritage in 2003 with registration number 388. This designation highlights its importance as a testament to Isfahan's architectural and religious traditions.
