Shah Abbasi Caravanserai of Nishapur

The Shah Abbasi Caravanserai of Nishapur spans 69 meters in length and 68 meters in width, constructed with traditional brick and mortar materials.

Built around 1700 during the Safavid Empire, this caravanserai served as a resting place for merchants traveling along Persian trade routes.

The structure maintains its Persian architectural heritage through its design elements while housing an archaeological museum and anthropology exhibits within its walls.

Visitors can explore handcraft shops inside the caravanserai complex, which also includes conference facilities and museum spaces open to the public.

Throughout its existence, the building has transformed from a merchant stopover to an orphanage, police station, and currently stands as a cultural center.
