Jamaran Hussainiya

Jamaran Hussainiya is a two-story religious structure in Tehran featuring traditional Iranian architectural elements throughout its concrete construction. The interior spaces contain detailed design work that supports both worship and large community gatherings.

The structure was established in 1853 and reopened in 1976, becoming increasingly prominent after 1980. This date marked when it transformed into an important site for religious and political discourse in Iran.

This religious center hosts commemorative ceremonies and communal gatherings where visitors can observe Shia Islamic traditions in everyday practice. The spaces are arranged to accommodate large numbers of people participating in collective worship and remembrance activities.

A metal bridge connects the main building to an adjacent mosque, with a balcony that served as a speaking platform for important religious addresses. This architectural connection demonstrates how two worship spaces were designed to work together functionally.
