Niavaran Park

Niavaran Park is a large green space in northern Tehran with extensive fountains and water features that dominate the landscape alongside flowering gardens and lawns. The park offers playgrounds, sports equipment, chess and ping pong areas, along with four large pools distributed throughout the grounds.

The park was established in 1969 and sits adjacent to former royal residences of the Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties. Its location next to these historical properties shaped its development as a public space in this important district.

The park houses a public library and children's cultural center that serve as gathering spaces for local residents seeking educational activities and community connections. People come here not just to relax but also to participate in organized programs and social events.

The park is open year-round and has many areas to explore, so wearing comfortable shoes and seeking shade during hot weather is advisable. The pools and playgrounds are spread across the grounds, making it worthwhile to allow extra time for a leisurely visit.

A canal built in 2000 brings water directly from the Niyavaran aqueduct into the park, allowing it to maintain its extensive water features and green areas. This irrigation system connects traditional water infrastructure with modern park operations.
