Soltaniyeh Dome

The octagonal structure reaches a height of 49 meters and features a double-shell dome made of brick and mortar with turquoise blue glazed tiles.

The mausoleum, completed in 1312, served as the burial site for Ilkhanid ruler Oljeitu during the Mongol empire's control of Persia.

The interior walls display extensive decorative elements including mosaics, murals, and geometric patterns that reflect Persian architectural techniques of the 14th century.

Visitors can access multiple levels through stairs, allowing examination of the structural design and architectural features from different vantage points.

The building contains the oldest double-shell dome construction in Iran and influenced later structures including the design of the Taj Mahal.
