Corvara in Badia

Corvara in Badia sits at 1,568 meters elevation in an Alpine valley surrounded by dramatic Dolomite peaks. The village spreads across the valley floor with traditional stone buildings and ski facilities woven into the mountain landscape.

The village began as a small mountain settlement until the Col Alto lift opened in 1938, transforming it into a winter sports center. This shift marked the start of its growth as a modern Alpine destination.

The Ladin language fills the streets and shops here, connecting people to traditions that have shaped this mountain community for centuries. You hear it in everyday conversations and see it on local signs throughout the village.

The village connects to extensive ski slopes and lift systems that link to hundreds of kilometers of runs across the Dolomites region. Summer months bring hiking and mountain biking opportunities, while winter demands appropriate cold-weather gear.

Each summer, a long-distance cycling race crosses seven mountain passes in the Dolomites and finishes in the village square. The event draws thousands of riders from around the world who challenge themselves on these high-altitude routes.
