Lavagna, Coastal municipality in Liguria, Italy
Located between Genova and La Spezia, Lavagna features five kilometers of sandy beaches alongside a marina with 1,400 berths over 76,000 square meters.
The settlement emerged during Roman times as Lavania and became a stronghold of the Fieschi family in 1198 during conflicts within the Republic of Genoa.
The annual Torta dei Fieschi festival includes medieval parades and cake distribution, following a tradition that commemorates the marriage of Count Fieschi.

The name Lavagna originates from the slate quarried in the San Giacomo Mountains, which locals used extensively for roof tiles throughout history.
