Casa Carbone

Casa Carbone is a residence in Lavagna with architectural features typical of the Ligurian region, featuring decorated ceilings, period furniture, and geometric mosaic floors throughout. The rooms connect through a central reception hall designed to link the different spaces and display areas.

The house was built in the 18th century as a family residence in the area. Its ownership changed significantly when two residents, Emanuele and Siria Carbone, left it through their will to a cultural organization in 1987 that still cares for it today.

The interior displays artwork and craftsmanship tied to local Ligurian traditions that visitors can see throughout the rooms. These objects give insight into how people of different eras appreciated and valued regional artistic styles in their homes.

Visitors can reach the house easily via tarmac roads that lead to the property. Guided tours are offered to help explain the artistic and handcrafted details found throughout the different rooms.

The central reception hall displays an interior design approach from the late 1800s that brought back stylistic elements from earlier historical periods. This allows visitors to experience a time when people looked back to previous eras for artistic inspiration in their homes.
