Ponte Minich

Ponte Minich, pont de Venise

Ponte Minich is a small stone footbridge in Venice's Castello district that connects two narrow streets. At just under 8 meters long and slightly over 3 meters wide, it features a simple, sturdy structure with a rough stone surface that carries the marks of age.

The bridge was constructed in the late 1800s with funding from Angelo Minich, a Venetian surgeon dedicated to the city's welfare. It underwent restoration in 1998 and has remained in good condition since.

The bridge is named after Angelo Minich, a 19th-century surgeon whose legacy shaped the city. His name appears on the structure and connects visitors to a figure who contributed to Venice's growth.

The bridge is narrow and requires careful footing, but offers a quiet crossing over the canal. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to the rough stone surface, especially when wet.

The bridge appeared in the spy film Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, bringing international attention to this quiet crossing. Most days, however, it remains a peaceful place used mainly by locals and curious travelers exploring the area.
