Count Giovanni Querini Stampalia established this library in 1869 through his will, transforming his private collection into a public institution.

The library functions as the primary research center for Venetian residents, offering access to 1,300 manuscripts and 100 early printed books from the fifteenth century.

The library opens Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, weekends until 7:00 PM, with registration required for visitors aged 16 and older.

The building combines a sixteenth-century facade with modern architectural elements, housing both historical archives and contemporary art installations.
