Suvereto

Suvereto is a commune in Livorno Province that encompasses several villages including Belvedere, Montioni, Prata, and San Lorenzo. The core area displays medieval features with ancient stone walls, towers, narrow alleys, and historic buildings spread across a hilltop.

The Rocca Aldobrandesca was built in the mid-12th century and incorporated remnants of ninth-century fortifications that protected residents from maritime raids. This layering shows how the area remained strategically important across centuries.
