Misano Adriatico

Misano Adriatico is a coastal commune in the Province of Rimini with modern sports facilities and significant natural areas. The town extends from the shoreline inland with residential neighborhoods and protected wetlands that support diverse wildlife.

The first church, Pieve di San Biagio, was built in 997 and marks the beginning of recorded history in this coastal region. The community evolved through medieval times and underwent administrative changes during the 20th century.

The neighborhoods here carry names of Latin American countries, reflecting the deep connection to residents who left for those lands in the 18th century. This naming choice keeps alive the memory of emigration that shaped community life.

The location is easily reached from the A14 highway and sits between the larger cities of Rimini and Ravenna. Parking is available near the main beaches and the racing circuit, and the best time to visit is outside of major motorsport events.

The area contains a fauna sanctuary along the Conca River mouth where storks and pelicans can be spotted among other bird species. This protected zone is a rare refuge for waterfowl along the northern Adriatic coast.
